Love Letters. Graffiti Pop painting by Enriquillo Amiama

Love Letters. Graffiti Pop-style new painting!

In the last few months, I have been working feverishly.

Perhaps you would think that I have done many paintings, but it has been digital sketches that have occupied my time.

I have been painting and drawing with Photoshop, the famous design program, for over 20 years. The creative freedom this powerful tool gives me is incredible.

In six months, I have made about 500 sketches or designs for future works.

For the last two months, I have been moving away from the PC to start painting on actual life canvas, as opposed to the digital canvas of my computer.

Yesterday, I finished a painting that I had done in 2019. She has gone through a process of radical transformation every week.

However, it was last night that I got where I wanted. I found a state of freedom and expressive purity that I couldn’t get.

Thank God I loosened the ties of excessive order and the rigidity of sticking to a precise, meticulous, and mathematically ordered composition.

As Asperger, it is normal for these things to happen to me. To be an artist, I have to eliminate so much rational mathematical logic and allow myself a bit of madness. Creativity is closely linked to irrational states.

It is good to plan, to sketch. But be aware of too much thinking, or better to say, overthinking. Freedom is necessary to create new things.

What do you think about this?

Art is a living thing. Have you ever heard about the Otherness of Art?

Many times, the painting tells us what it needs. And we have to open our ears to that silent voice!

Maritza Lacayo, a terrific curator, liked this painting and sent me a private message on Instagram. She congrats me and said she loves the combination of materials and depth!

Young people liked this painting. It has the happy mood of these times!
